What are the ISO 2859-1 switching rules?
Clause 9.3 of ISO 2859-1 requires inspection to move between Normal, Tightened and Reduced severity based on how the supplier is actually performing. Inspecting every garment lot on Normal forever gives the buyer far less protection than the stated AQL implies.
Is the severity changed without the inspector?
No — it is advisory. The app computes the recommendation from the factory's own lot history and shows why, but the inspector chooses the severity and must record a reason when departing from the recommendation.
How is the state tracked?
One state per tenant, garment factory, buyer and AQL pair. It only ever advances when an audit is submitted, once per audit, so re-saving or editing a report can never move the state twice.
Do the switching rules apply to ISO 2859-2 (LQ)?
No. ISO 2859-2 covers isolated lots, and an isolated lot has no continuing series to switch against. QualityIris deliberately hides switching in LQ mode.
Which AQL levels are covered?
The AQL levels used in apparel, from 0.65 through 6.5, across sample sizes 2 to 2000 — with Tightened and Reduced plans from Tables 2-B and 2-C of the standard.
